This policy explains what giftora collects when you use the gift finder and why.

What you tell us about the recipient

The questionnaire asks about the person you’re shopping for: occasion, relationship, age or age range, optional gender, interests, dislikes, personality and budget. A first name is optional. We use these answers only to generate recommendations and to improve the service in aggregate.

  • Recipient names are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • We never send the recipient’s name to our AI provider. The AI writes a placeholder that we fill in on our own server.
  • Please don’t enter sensitive information (health, contact details, addresses) in free-text fields.

What we collect about you

  • A random visitor ID cookie that keeps the site secure (it protects forms against forgery) and lets us count visits. We store only a keyed hash of it.
  • Basic usage events: questionnaire completions, results viewed, outbound product clicks, device type (mobile/desktop) and referring website domain.
  • We do not store your IP address in our analytics. IP addresses are used transiently, in hashed form, to rate-limit abuse.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don’t link your activity to a visitor record.

AI processing

Your answers (without the recipient’s name) and a list of candidate products are sent to our AI provider to rank ideas. The provider processes this under its own terms and data-handling commitments.

Third parties

When you click through to a store such as Amazon, that store’s privacy policy applies. If we enable Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, Google processes usage data as described in its policies; we’ll update the cookie page accordingly.

Shared links

Result links are unguessable but anyone you share one with can see the ideas and the first name (if you entered one). They can’t see your other answers.

Retention and your rights

Aggregated analytics are kept for up to 730 days. To ask about or delete data related to a results link, contact azradark@gmail.com with the link.
